China is developing chips that can add AI to any gadget

The Thinker chip is the perfect innovation to hack the AI race
When it comes to inventions, China has been historically powerful going as far as gunpowder, silk, and paper. In recent decades, despite being a manufacturing powerhouse of smartphones and other electronic components. When it comes to innovation, China is often way behind the US, and importantly its Asian rivals Japan and South Korea.
With the Chinese government announcing its goal to become a world leader in AI by 2030, Chinese researchers have come up with the perfect innovation to hack the AI race - chips that will add AI to any gadget. The best example for this is the Thinker chip designed by Tsinghua University’s Institute of Microelectronics.
